Kathryn Arbenz was born in San Jose Costa Rica on March 26th.  She spent her childhood and teenage years at Ciudad Cariari. All the Arbenz family live in Costa Rica except for her cousin and brother who live in Canada and New York respectively.  Kathryn is the granddaughter of the  constitutional  ex president of Guatemala Jacobo Arbenz Guzman (1951-1954) who had  Switzerland ascendancy, and that’s how Kathryn discovered her passion and decided to study International Affairs at UIA Costa Rica University.  She also studied graphic design and will be starting French classes. When she was 15 years old, her older sister took her to a casting and her modeling career started since then, with a mayonnaise commercial in the AXE Modelling Agency. From that moment she has worked with different international agencies. Kathryn participated in the 1999 Tica Linda contest becoming a finalist, but it was not until 2002 when she got known throughout the country while being crowned Miss Piel Dorada 2002 which opened the opportunity to enter into the Ujena Bikini Jam in Cancún the same year. In 2003 she worked in a TV series called “Aquí entre nos” with actor Gustavo Rojas and Director Oscar Castillo from   “Producciones la Mestiza”. This was a sports TV program including humor and acting scenes. In 2005 she participated  in the series “Retumbos” (Channel 7)under the direction of Oscar Castillo and La Mestiza productions, with actors like Bismark Mendez, Jose Arceyouth and Natalia Pereira, among others. During 2008 Kathryn showed her passion for fitness and she went to Mexico to compete. There, she won the gold medal in the AMED CHAMPIONSHIP of the International  Federation of the W.A.B.B.A. in fitness model category and the next day she won the silver medal in the Musclemania Latino, model Elite category. In 2008,  Kathryn  created her own  calendar “ Kathryn Arbenz  Calendar, 2009 Limited Edition”  with her own production and the collaboration of renown professional photographers, make-up and stylists artists. That same year she decided to move to Mexico DF but didn´t stay too long before Costa Rican TV Channel “Repretel” contacted her to be part of a new TV show with a innovative format. Kathryn returned to her country and started 2009 in Costa Rica in order to become a part of this TV proposal.   She traveled with Repretel to a different countries, as South Africa for the World Cup 2010, Mexico, Ecuador. On december 2010 Kathryn Arbenz started working with the TV Channel DestinosTV.com doing TV programs of CR, this all about Tourism. She  is an active worker for her family foundation www.guatemalaspring.org, have experience working with recycle companies and she also do social work every year for kids of her country.
